“At The Good Lobby we care for your rights, this is why we adopted a comprehensive, smart data protection and privacy policy to let you understand how we process your personal information and how you can exercise your rights“

Alberto Alemanno, Co-founder and Director

INTRODUCTION

The new General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation EU 2017/679, or simply “GDPR”) sets very important standards for the protection of your personal data, and we are committed to implement them.
Otherwise… we wouldn’t call ourselves The Good Lobby!

WHO IS PROCESSING YOUR DATA?

The Good Lobby is a first of its kind skill-sharing community that was founded in 2015 by Alberto Alemanno (Professor of Law at HEC Paris and NYU Law School). It operates under the umbrella of eLABEurope, a nonpartisan organization registered in Spain with offices also in Belgium (Brussels), committed to promote civic engagement by experimenting new forms of participatory democracy and non profit, evidence-based advocacy in the public interest in Europe and beyond.
eLABEurope is registered in the transparency register of the European Union (ID 308319527120-86).

The processing operations are decided by the President of eLABEurope (Alberto Alemanno) and carried out by The Good Lobby’s volunteers.

HOW DO YOU EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS?

When possible, we implemented the principle of privacy by design, so you should always be able to exercise your rights without our intervention, by  unsubscribing from the newsletter. However, should you need assistance or have any doubt you can always get in touch with us at info@thegoodlobby.eu.

WHICH PROCESSING OPERATIONS WE CARRY OUT?

The Good Lobby runs only four type of processing operations. We do not sell, transfer or use your data in any other way. Your data is solely accessed by The Good Lobby’s staff.

MATCHMAKING

Our core activity is to make skilled Europeans available on a pro-bono or low bono basis to non-profit organisations or civil society in general. To achieve this goal, we created an interactive database, allowing skilled Europeans to provide us their contact details, skills… and ultimately become one of the experts we can rely upon.

This data is given on a voluntary basis, and we keep it for three years.

EDUCATIONAL

To promote our methodology and to allow civil society organisations to have access to the same resources and expertise as corporations, we run a number of educational activities such as Masterclasses, Workshops, and our brand new Summer Academy in Lobbying.
To enroll in these activity and to make the best out of them, we require some basic information such as contact details and working position or academic background.
When you enroll in these activities, your data is also used to inform you about upcoming events and to send you our newsletter, but you can unsubscribe at any time.

NETWORKING AND COMMUNICATION

We could not call ourselves The Good Lobby without some traditional lobbying activities!
We carry out surveys to map the needs of civil society informations and operate our matchmaking mechanism. We also take part in many events, where we are more than happy to gather the contact details of interested citizens and experts who wish to stay updated about our activities through our newsletter.

We also run a very successful blog, where we also publish the details of the authors of each article.

RECRUITMENT

We often have open positions for fellows wishing to join our ranks.
In this case we will ask you for your CV and motivation letter. To allow some flexibility in the recruitment process, we will keep it for a year.

WHICH TOOLS DO WE USE TO PROCESS YOUR DATA?

We use very simple, yet efficient tools to process your data. In particular:

  • CiviCRM, to manage the mailing lists for the newsletter and communications;
  • Google Drive, to process the applications and manage the surveys;
  • WordPress, to manage our website and publish articles on the blog.
