WHAT ARE COOKIES
« Cookies » are small files that are stored by the browser on your computer or mobile device. They allow websites to remember certain information, such as user preferences, the type of device used and other information, ensuring a more efficient operation of the site, enriching the visitor experience and providing information to the site owners .
Cookies are information stored on the hard disk of the user’s terminal and which are sent by the user’s browser to a Web server and which refer to the use of the network. As a result, they allow to know the services, the sites visited and the options that, surfing the net, have been manifested. In other words, cookies are small files, containing letters and numbers, that are downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the original site on each subsequent visit, or to a another website that recognizes these cookies. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognize the user’s device.
This information is therefore not provided spontaneously and directly, but leaves a trace of the user’s browsing on the net.
Cookies perform different functions and allow you to navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences and, more generally, improving your experience. They can also help to ensure that the advertisements shown during browsing are of interest to them and that the marketing activities carried out are in accordance with their preferences, avoiding unwelcome or not in line with the user’s needs.
While browsing on a site, the user can also receive on his terminal cookies that are sent from different websites or web servers (so-called « third parties »), on which certain elements may reside (eg: images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) present on the site that he is visiting. Therefore, there may be in this respect:
Direct cookies, sent directly from this site to the user’s device
Third-party cookies from a third party but sent on our behalf. This site uses third-party cookies to facilitate the analysis of our website and their use (as described below).
Furthermore, depending on the purpose of using cookies, these can be distinguished in:
Technical cookies: they are used to allow the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network or to provide a service specifically requested by the user. They are not used for other purposes. In the technical cookies category, whose use does not require the user’s consent, we distinguish:
a) Navigation or session cookies: they guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (eg: to authenticate and access reserved areas). The use of these cookies (which are not stored permanently on the user’s device and are automatically eliminated when the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to allow the safe and efficient site exploration.
b) Analytics cookies: if they are used only to collect information in aggregate form, on the number of users who visit the site and how they visit it
c) Functional cookies: allow the user to browse based on a set of selected criteria (eg: language or services to which one has joined) to improve the service provided to the user.
Profiling cookies: they are aimed at creating user profiles and used to send targeted promotional messages according to the preferences shown while browsing the web. These cookies can be used for these purposes only with the consent of the user.

Similarly, AddToMany, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube can use cookies that are useful for sharing content on social networks or for processing access statistics. The Good Lobby does not use these cookies for profiling purposes. Facebook Connect allows users already registered with Facebook to authenticate themselves on the site without requiring access credentials entered during registration. The Good Lobby can adopt, if the user voluntarily uses it, the Facebook Connect system and cookies, to integrate The Good Lobby login with the user’s Facebook account. In addition to simplifying the registration process, Facebook Connect allows the website to extend some features of the social network to the site itself, making it easier to share content through Facebook. Furthermore, the Facebook Pixel cookie is installed which allows The Good Lobby to monitor the conversions that occur on its website as a result of the ads it is running on Facebook. For example, if you wish to monitor subscriptions to a particular campaign advertised on Facebook, the cookie will notify Facebook whenever a user has signed up for a particular campaign on The Good Lobby website. Facebook compares the conversion event with the group of people who were shown the ad or who clicked on it, in order to provide The Good Lobby with information that helps them understand the return on investment for their spending advertising. The Good Lobby does not use this cookie for profiling purposes but only for statistical purposes. Finally, the Google Adwords / Doubleclick conversion Pixel cookie is used by The Good Lobby to find out which keywords generate the most clicks on Google and conversions in services requested by The Good Lobby (eg campaign memberships). This tool indicates what happened after users clicked on your ad in Google, for example, if they joined a campaign. Thanks to this information, The Good Lobby identifies the most effective keywords for its activity. The Good Lobby does not use this cookie for profiling purposes, but only in an aggregate manner for statistical purposes. Finally, third parties could use this information, also combining them with others already available to them for purposes other than those purely technical (functionality or session), subject to the user’s consent.
